FACTS!!!

I'll be the first person to admit that I sounded insane last night when I made that post about Christmas. But, I did have a point, television is regulated by the federal government. Commercials are considered television, therefore me blaming the government for the commercialization of Christmas isn't complete insanity! Oh, if you don't believe the words uttered from my mouth, feel free to check out these two fancy schmancy websites:

Facts! Boom.

This has been the story about how the government stole Christmas...

  1. Remember the days when Christmas was a family affair and celebrated mostly in the home or at a church? I don't! It seems to me that Christmas has become less and less about giving and more and more about selling. Now its quantity that counts instead of the emotions and thoughts behind it. Christmas has become way too commercialized and I sort-of blame it on the buisnesses that advertise and the government that regulates it but I blame it on us more. We are the ones in ultimate control of how we spend our money and how we influence others. Tighter restrictions on TV would be nice but that won't stop the overall problems of a commercialized Christmas! Or we could just keep ignoring things and read Hogfather by Terry Pratchett instead...

  2. North would be so mad at us...no Christmas presents for children in the world...

People buy presents because they don't know how to express each other. "I love you" is a normal phrase used by so many teenage girls, it doesn't have its meaning anymore. I mean, come on,some commercials show guys giving shiny crap to their "girlfriends" to make them happy, and she are? they are? the she-them? (whaaaa...?) are "Ohmegod, thank you, I<3 U!" *Super fake smiley face*................. =.= What the hell. This is why inexperienced people buy what commercials makes them think what will make their special someone happy, which of course, will not in the long run.

Going form what you were talking about... -w-U Yes! The whatever-thing-that-checsk-and-lets-commertials-come-on-air-company? is controlled by the gov. (Or that's what I think.) And so are all the commertials for medicine...I think this is all a great scheme... watch me not coming back to school next week...
